The woman was running for her life. She ran in front of a slow passing car.
"Stop!! Please!!!" she yelled.
"The car stopped and the couple inside looked in horror at the women with tattered clothing and bruised arms.
"Please... You have to call the police..." she said.

3 Days Earlier...

Ryuzaki, Ryuga, and Kokoro were at Mr. Jackson's house, asking him if he would like to participate in a police findraiser.

"Hey, where's your wife?" asked Ryuga.

"She's at Women's Retreat." said Mr. Jackson.

"Hey, try this gum that I made." said Cody, giving Ryuzaki, Kokoro, and Ryuga a piece of wrapped gum.

They tried it, and Ryuga spit the gum out onto the floor, near a shag carpet.

"Ugh... That tasted horrible..." said Ryuga.

"I call it Diet Blue flavor." said Cody.

Three days later...

Ryuzaki was laying on the bed, reading his Death Note book. Ryuga was playing on their Playstation 2, and Kokoro was eating a taco.
Ryuzaki's cell phone rang with a Linkin Park ringtone.

"Yes? ...Mh-hm. We'll be right there." said Ryuzaki.

"We've got a case. Yay." said Ryuzaki.

"First one in weeks." said Koko, getting up.

"Finally. I hope it's a homocide." said Ryuga..

They got to the police station, and met with the Chief and the victim.

"Her name is Samantha Jackson. A couple got flagged down by her, and she was badly beaten." said the Chief.

"So, what happened?" asked Koko.

"She was kidnapped by her husband, Dorian Jackson, and locked her up in a small cottage for 3 days." said the Chief.

"Jackson? The one who we went to ask for a donation?" said Kokoro.

"Yep. Same one." said the Chief.

"I still have the shackle marks..." she said, taking off her shoe to reveal sores on her ankle.

"Hey, I bet you 20 bucks I can eat that gum on her shoe." said Ryuga with a laugh.

Ryuzaki held the shoe up to his mouth.

"Try." said Ryuzaki.

Ryuga took the gum and started chewing it, to everyone's disgust.

"Okay... Back to the case... She was locked up by her husband on her way home from her Women's Retreat. She used her nail filer to slowly cut through the chains, and hit him in the back of the head with a chunk of wood when he was asleep, and ran out." said the Chief.

"Then we need to go to the cabin." said Ryuzaki.

They got to the cabin, and Ryuzaki was looking over the body, that was on top of a nice shag carpet.

"So she hit him in the left temple, killing him huh." said Ryuzaki.

"Yep. He had a large sum of inheritance money, so now for him locking her up, she gets money in return." said the Chief.

"Something's not right." said Ryuga.

"You're right... Why would he kidnap her? Was he sadistic?" said Ryuzaki.

"I think so." said Koko.

"Well, let's go home and eat dinner. We'll discuss it tonight." said Ryuga.

Later at their home...

Ryuzaki was sitting on the couch, next to a sleeping Ryuga. Koko was on the computer, looking at other cases.

"Why would he randomly kidnap her...?" Ryuzaki pondered.

Ryuzaki noticed that Ryuga was still chewing the gum. He woke him, and asked him, "Are you still chewing that?"

"Uh... Yeah. But it tastes as bad as the gum that Cody gave us..." said Ryuga.

Ryuzaki's heart skipped a beat. He asked Ryuga to give him the gum in an evidence bag, and ran out the door.

He caught up with Samantha Jackson at her house. She was getting ready to leave with a bunch of suitcases.

"What is it?" Samantha said innocently.

"You weren't kidnapped. You killed your husband to get the inheritance money." Ryuzaki said coldly to Samantha.

"Prove it then." she said.

"You came back from your retreat, and snuck into your husbands house. You whacked him in the head, and used the shag carpet to carry his body to the cabin. You stayed there, so the shackle marks would be real. Three days later, you cut yourself free, and had the couple call the cops." said Ryuzaki.

"You would get the inheritance money, since he was dead. They couldn't deny it, even though you killed him. It was "self defense"." he continued.

"And how can you prove all that?" asked Samantha.

Ryuzaki pulled out the gum in the evidence bag.

"This gum was on your shoe. It got spit out by Ryuga in Mr. Jackson's house." said Ryuzaki.
"You stepped on it as you were dragging his corpse out of the house."

"You can't prove that. Gum is gum." Samantha said.

"Not this. It's home made gum. Diet Blue." Ryuzaki said.

Samantha stood dumbfounded. She was beat by a 13-year-old.

She was turned in to the police station, and was put in jail for murder.

"So... I was chewing the gum that I hated before? Jeez..." said Ryuga.

"Well, I can make a new flavor." said Cody.

Everyone in the room groaned and left.
